D-War

I saw the worst movie I have ever seen. Bona, my Korean friend that is staying with my parents, told me about this S. Korean movie "Drangon Wars" that was coming to the US. It had American actors and was mostly in English. So, we decided to go see it.... Within the first 5 minutes I was thinking "Wow... This acting is pretty bad...." But after sitting there for 30 minutes, it was getting down right painful.

Abosutely nothing redeemable. I hated the effects as well as the acting.

In Korea, the movie is doing really well. It's the highest grossing movie in the nation's history. The movie has caused a huge debate. It's been panned by most critics, some calling it "unworthy of critisism. But, fans are very dedicated! They have flooded critic's websites defending the film and it's director, Hyung-rae Shim.

In the US, however, the film has been recieved less warmly by the public. It opened in more than 2,ooo theaters and made $5 million. Yeah.

Shim is very proud that he achieved what he strived to do, have the movie released in the US. As for me, I'm saddened. You would think that the American distributors would have chosen a better movie. Like.... The Host? Or anything really.
